If you are looking for bungee jumping in Goa, the experience and safety matter just as much as the height.

At Mayem Lake in North Goa, you can take a 55-metre jump from a fixed platform overlooking the lake. The experience is operated by Jumpin Heights, and it follows a structured process from eligibility checks and briefing to equipment fitting, safety checks and the jump itself.

At Top Goa Tours, we have personally visited and inspected the operation. We recommend it as a Trusted Recommendation because of the way the experience is organised, the professionalism of the team and the attention given to participants before they step onto the platform.

For many first-time jumpers, the hardest part is not the jump itself. It is standing at the edge. The team understands that.

They explain what is going to happen, answer questions, encourage participants and make sure they understand the process before making the jump.

A 55-Metre Jump Over Mayem Lake

The platform stands approximately 55 metres above Mayem Lake. From the top, you have the lake below and the surrounding landscape spread out around you. Then comes the moment when you step off the platform.

The jump itself is over quickly, but the build-up to it is a big part of the experience. For someone doing their first bungy, there is usually a mixture of excitement and nervousness. The briefing and preparation help you understand what is about to happen rather than simply being told to jump.

And once you have done it, the reaction is often very different. That moment of standing at the edge becomes the story you take home.

What Happens When You Arrive?

The experience is structured rather than rushed.

01

Registration and Eligibility Checks

Complete the participant form and provide the information needed to establish eligibility, including weight and relevant health declarations.

02

Safety Briefing (~15 min)

The team explains how the bungy system works, the equipment, how the jump happens, what to do during it, and safety precautions.

03

Harness Fitting and Safety Checks

Your harness and equipment are fitted according to the operating procedure, and checked before you're allowed onto the platform.

04

The Jump

When it's your turn, you step onto the platform and make the jump, secured throughout according to the operator's bungy procedures.

05

Back to the Platform

After the jump, you're lowered back onto the platform, the harness is removed, and you return to the office area.

06

Your Badge and Certificate

You receive the "I've Got Guts" badge, a jump certificate, and a video of your jump, included in the price.

The Part First-Time Jumpers Worry About

Almost everyone who has never jumped from a 55-metre platform has some hesitation. That is completely understandable.

The team doesn't simply assume that because you have booked a bungy, you are ready to walk to the edge without a second thought. The briefing gives you a clear understanding of the process. The staff explain what will happen and encourage participants through the final moments before the jump.

That human element matters. The objective isn't to pretend that you aren't nervous. It is to help you understand what you are doing and give you the confidence to take that final step.

And for many first-time jumpers, the feeling after the jump is simple: "That was amazing."

What Should You Wear?

Yes. Non-participants can accompany the jumper and watch the experience from the viewing area below. It can actually be a fun experience for a group, especially when one person is preparing to jump and everyone else is watching from below.

Once your turn is being processed, allow approximately 30–40 minutes for the experience, including checks, briefing, preparation and the jump.

However, jumps are conducted on a first-come, first-served basis. If other participants are already waiting, you may need to spend additional time at the venue before your turn. We recommend keeping some flexibility in your schedule rather than planning another activity immediately afterwards.

Bungee jumper mid-freefall above Mayem Lake, Goa

We don't add every adventure activity in Goa to our Trusted Recommendations. We personally visited this operation to understand how it is conducted.

What stood out to us was the professional way the experience is handled from beginning to end. There is a proper participant form and eligibility check. There is a detailed briefing before the jump. Equipment is fitted and checked before you are allowed onto the platform. The team explains the process clearly and supports participants who are nervous about taking that final step.

The operation follows a structured safety protocol led by trained Jump Masters, and adheres to Australian and New Zealand safety standards for bungy operations — among the most rigorous in the world for this sport.

And then there is the setting. Standing above Mayem Lake, looking down from the platform before your jump, is a big part of what makes this experience memorable.
